Installation Guide
Install HTML Macro for Confluence on your Atlassian Confluence Cloud instance.

Requirements
- Platform: Confluence Cloud only (not Server or Data Center)
- Role: Confluence site administrator
- Runtime: Atlassian Forge — no external servers required, runs entirely on Atlassian infrastructure
Install from the Atlassian Marketplace
- Go to Atlassian Marketplace and search for "HTML Macro for Confluence"
- Click "Get it now"
- Select your Confluence site from the dropdown
- Follow the installation prompts
- Installation completes in 1–3 minutes
Once installed, the HTML macro is immediately available to all Confluence users with page edit permissions.
Verify the Installation
- Open any Confluence page in edit mode
- Type
/html— if HTML Macro for Confluence appears in the dropdown, the installation was successful - Click the macro to open the editor
Post-Installation Configuration (Optional)
After installing, site administrators can configure security and permissions:
- Go to Confluence Administration → Manage Apps
- Find HTML Macro for Confluence and click Configure
- Adjust security settings (CSP enforcement, domain whitelist) and user permissions

Permissions
- Editors (users with page edit permission) can create and edit HTML macros
- Viewers see the rendered HTML output only — they never see the source code
- Admins have full access to the editor and the global configuration panel
Uninstalling
- Go to Confluence Administration → Manage Apps
- Find HTML Macro for Confluence and click Uninstall
Note: Uninstalling removes the app. Existing macros on pages will no longer render and will appear as empty placeholders. Export or copy any important HTML content before uninstalling.
