What chart types are available?

Bar, line, pie (including a donut style), area, scatter and combination charts, plus table views. You can switch chart type at any time in the gadget configuration.

How do I add a chart to my dashboard?

Edit your Jira dashboard, click Add gadget, search for "Charts - Reports and Graphs" and add it. Then pick a data source, chart type and grouping in the gadget configuration.

Can I export or download a chart?

No. Charts are shown on the Jira dashboard only. There is no export or download option.

How is data fetched from Jira?

The app runs on Atlassian Forge and reads issues from your Jira site through Jira's APIs. A chart only shows issues from projects the person viewing it has permission to see.

Does it work with Jira filters and JQL?

Yes. You can scope each gadget to a saved Jira filter or write a JQL query to define which issues a chart includes.

Does it support Company-managed and Team-managed projects?

Yes. Charts for Jira Dashboard works with both Company-managed (classic) and Team-managed (next-gen) Jira projects.

Is my Jira data stored externally?

No. The app runs on Atlassian Forge with no external servers, so your issue data never leaves Atlassian.

How many gadgets can I add to a dashboard?

The app sets no hard limit, and each gadget is configured on its own. Browsers can slow down with 10 or more charts on one dashboard, so we suggest keeping it to about 8.

Does it support custom fields?

You can pick system or custom fields as a data source. Grouping covers status, assignee, issue type, project, labels and priority. Multi-select, cascading select and multi-user picker fields are not fully supported for grouping yet.
