HTML Macro+ for Confluence is free for sites with up to 10 users. Larger sites subscribe through Atlassian, monthly or annually, and the Atlassian Marketplace offers its usual free 1-month trial first.
Your pages always keep showing their content, whether or not your site has a license.
Pricing
HTML Macro+ is free for sites with up to 10 users. Above that, the price per user per month depends on how many users your site has:

Subscribe or start a trial
A site admin approves the paid update and starts the trial or subscribes in Atlassian Administration. See Update to the paid version for the steps. Billing goes through Atlassian, like other Marketplace apps. On a site with up to 10 users the subscription costs nothing, but a site admin still takes it once so the app is licensed.
The free trial
When a site takes the paid version of the app, a site admin can start the Atlassian Marketplace free trial (1 month) in Atlassian Administration (how). Everything works during the trial, with no notices. Subscribe in the same place before it ends to keep editing.
Without a license
On a site with neither a subscription nor a trial, admins and editors see a notice that the app requires a valid license to work, with a link to start a free trial or subscribe and, until 28 February 2027, the launch offer. Until then:

Once an admin subscribes, editing and settings work again.
