Installation

Install PDF Exporter for Confluence from the Atlassian Marketplace in a few minutes.

Requirements

  • Confluence Cloud (the app does not support Server or Data Center)
  • Confluence site admin or space admin permissions to install apps

Installing from the Marketplace

  1. Go to the Atlassian Marketplace and search for PDF Exporter for Confluence
  2. Click Get it now on the app listing page
  3. Select your Confluence site from the dropdown and click Install
  4. Atlassian will prompt you to review the app permissions — click Accept to proceed
  5. Wait for the installation to complete (usually under a minute)

Verifying the Installation

Once installed, confirm the app is active:

  1. Go to Confluence Settings → Manage apps
  2. Find PDF Exporter for Confluence in the list
  3. Confirm the status shows Enabled

You can also verify by opening any Confluence page and checking that Export to PDF appears in the ··· (More actions) menu.


License Activation

PDF Exporter for Confluence includes a free evaluation period. After install:

  1. Go to Confluence Settings → Manage apps
  2. Click on PDF Exporter for Confluence
  3. Click Try it free to start your evaluation, or enter a license key if you already have one

Full functionality is available immediately during the trial. After the trial period, a valid license is required to continue using the app.


Setting Up Default Templates

On first launch, the app seeds three default templates automatically:

  • Default — Clean export with page numbers
  • Report — Cover page, table of contents, section breaks
  • Minimal — Content-only, no chrome

No setup is required for these templates. Admins can create additional custom templates from Confluence Settings → PDF Exporter. See Template Management.


Post-Installation Checklist

  • App shows as Enabled in Manage apps
  • Export to PDF appears in page action menus
  • Default templates are visible when opening the exporter
  • License trial is active (check Manage apps)
