Getting Started
Welcome to Markdown Exporter for Confluence — a Forge-native app that lets you export any Confluence page, page tree, or space to clean, portable Markdown files.
What You Can Do
- Export any single page, page tree, or full space to Markdown
- Download results as a structured ZIP archive with full folder hierarchy
- Include attachments alongside your exported pages
- Add customizable YAML front matter to every file
- Use Obsidian wikilinks format for direct vault compatibility
- Define custom filename patterns with
{title},{date}, and{id}tokens - Preview any page's markdown before downloading
Accessing the Exporter
There are two ways to open the exporter:
From a Specific Page
- Navigate to the Confluence page you want to export
- Click the ••• (More actions) menu in the top-right corner
- Select Export to Markdown
The exporter opens pre-scoped to that page, with its entire child tree ready to browse.
From Global Access
- Click Apps in the Confluence top navigation
- Select Markdown Exporter
This opens the full exporter where you can choose any space and parent page to export from.
