Who Can Use Templates
Everyone who can use Jira. Auto-apply in Jira's Create dialog and on the portal, Create work item from template and Apply template are always open. Work items are still created only where Jira lets that person create them.
Who Can Manage Templates
- Open Jira settings → Apps → Issue Templates and the Templates tab.
- Choose Everyone, or Only selected people and groups and add them.
- Save.
People on the list can create, clone, edit, delete and assign templates.
Who Can Use the Scheduler
The Scheduler tab has the same choice, for who can see and change schedules.
Saving a schedule or running it now also needs permission to create work items in its space, so the Scheduler never lets anyone create work where Jira wouldn't. Existing schedules keep running whoever has access. People without access see a message saying so when they open the Scheduler.
Good to know
- Being a Jira admin doesn't give access by itself. Add yourself if you choose a list.
- A tab set to Only selected people and groups with nobody on it can't be saved, because it would lock everyone out. The save bar says which tab needs a person or group.
- The app's own Jira permissions are listed in Data and privacy.
