Frequently Asked Questions

General

Is the app free?

Yes. There is no trial, no license key and no paid tier.

Does it work on Jira Server or Data Center?

No. It's a Jira Cloud app built on Atlassian Forge.

Does it send my data anywhere?

No. It runs on Atlassian Forge, keeps everything in Forge storage for your site and calls nothing outside Atlassian, which is why it is part of the Runs on Atlassian program. See Data and privacy.

Templates

Does Jira's Create dialog add a template's child items?

No. Jira gives apps no way to add work items from its own Create dialog, so auto-apply fills in the parent only. Create work item from template, Apply template and the Scheduler add the child items. See Child items.

Which fields work on the Jira Service Management portal?

Summary, description, labels, priority and due date. Assignee and reporter can't be set on the portal, and environment can't be filled in automatically anywhere. See Auto-apply.

Why didn't my template set the priority?

In Jira's Create dialog, a field fills in only if it is on that space's create screen. Add the field to the screen, or create the work item from the template instead.

Can I move templates to another site?

Yes. Export the templates you pick, then import the file on the other site. Assignments are matched by space key and work type name, and any that don't exist there are listed. See Import and export.

Recurring tasks

Which time zone does a schedule use?

The one you pick in the schedule form. Its runs, and the dates its work items fill in, follow that time zone.

Who is the reporter of a scheduled work item?

Whoever last saved the schedule, or whoever pressed Run now, unless the template sets a reporter itself.

What happens when a run fails?

It's recorded in the schedule's history, the schedule shows in a red banner on the Scheduler, and, with Alert when a run fails on, the app comments on the last work item the schedule created and mentions whoever last saved it. See Schedule options.

Can a schedule run more often than every 5 minutes?

No. Schedules are checked every 5 minutes, so a schedule set more often creates one work item per check.
