Known Issues
This page lists known limitations in the current release, with workarounds where there are any.
Tables and the | Character
A | typed inside a table cell is written out unescaped, which adds an extra column to that row.
Workaround: avoid | in table cells, or replace it with / before exporting.
Text in Angle Brackets
Text wrapped in angle brackets, such as <draft> or <name>, is removed from the output.
Workaround: use other brackets, like [draft] or (draft).
Mentions You Can't Access
Mentions are turned into names and links using your own monday.com permissions. A mention of a person or doc you can't see, or one that has been deleted, stays as @{user-<id>} or @{doc-<id>}.
Non-Latin File Names and the unzip Command
File names keep letters from every language, and the ZIP marks them as UTF-8. Finder, Windows Explorer and most archive tools open them correctly. The unzip command that ships with macOS ignores that marker and shows the names garbled.
Workaround: double-click the ZIP in Finder, or use ditto -x -k export.zip folder in Terminal.
Large Workspaces and Image-Heavy Docs
Every doc is fetched and every image downloaded in your browser, one doc at a time. Exporting hundreds of docs, or docs with many large images, can take several minutes. Keep the tab open until the Export Ready! message appears.
Reporting a Problem
Email [email protected] or use our support portal. Include the doc's block types, or a copy of the doc, if the Markdown doesn't look right.
