Features & How-To

This section covers how to choose what gets exported, and what you get back.

Choosing a Workspace

The Workspace menu lists every workspace your monday.com account can access. It isn't limited to the workspace you opened the app from. Picking a different workspace reloads the list of docs and clears the current selection.

Choosing a Source

The Source menu narrows the list to part of the workspace:

Source What's listed
All Folders Every doc in the workspace: docs outside any folder first, then each folder with its docs
A folder Only the docs inside that folder

Selecting Docs and Folders

Each row in the list is either a folder or a doc. When a list loads, everything in it is selected.

  • Folder checkbox: selects or clears every doc in that folder at once
  • Doc checkbox: selects or clears one doc. When you tick the last unticked doc in a folder, the folder ticks itself too.
  • Select all: the checkbox in the list header selects or clears everything
  • Expand/collapse: click the arrow beside a folder to show or hide its docs. Collapsed folders still export if they're selected.

The Export button shows how many docs are selected.

Exporting

Action Result
Export (sidebar) Converts every selected doc and prepares one ZIP. Click Download ZIP when it's ready.
Download icon on a doc's row Converts that one doc and downloads it: a ZIP with its images, or a plain .md file if attachments are off

A progress bar shows how many docs have been processed. Docs with many images take longer, because each image is downloaded so it can be included in the ZIP.

Including Attachments

Include attachments, under Options in the sidebar, is on by default.

Setting Images in the export
On Downloaded into attachments/ in the ZIP. The Markdown links to the local copies, so the export works offline and outside monday.com.
Off Not downloaded. The Markdown keeps each image's original link, exactly as monday.com returns it.

Turn it off for a faster export when the Markdown will stay somewhere that can reach monday.com, or when you only need the text. Images uploaded to monday.com have links that only work for people signed in to your account, so turn it on if the export is leaving monday.com.

The setting applies to the next export you start, and resets to on each time you open the app.

To start over after an export, clear the Export Ready! message or change the workspace or source.
