Gadgets
A gadget script is shown in the Script Toolkit Gadget on Jira dashboards. Like a fragment, it runs in the viewer's browser and calls Jira as the viewer, so each person sees their own data.
Add a gadget to a dashboard
- In Scripts, create a script of kind Gadget and save it.
- Open a dashboard, click Edit → Add gadget, and add Script Toolkit Gadget.
- In the gadget's Edit screen, pick your script and save.
Each gadget on a dashboard can show a different script. Anyone who can edit the dashboard can choose among your enabled gadget scripts; only Jira admins can write them.
What a gadget can use
The same globals as a fragment: requestJira, setHeight, showFlag, router, theme and context. Use setHeight so the gadget grows to fit its content.
If a gadget shows a message instead
| Message | Why |
|---|---|
| Edit this gadget to choose which Script Toolkit script it shows. | No script chosen yet |
| The script this gadget shows is disabled or was deleted. | Enable the script again, or choose another |
You can preview a gadget script in the editor's Test tab before adding it to a dashboard.
