Links to Pages

A box in a flowchart can open a Confluence page when readers click it on the published diagram.

Right-click a box in the preview and choose Link to a page…, or use Insert → Link to a page and pick the box from the list. Then search for the page by title and click Link.

The link is written into the code as Mermaid's own syntax:

click A href "/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=123" "Open Release plan"

The address uses the page ID, so the link keeps working when the page is renamed or moved.

Right-click a linked box: Change linked page… picks another page, and Remove link takes the link out (the box stays).

On the published page

Clicking a linked box opens the page in Confluence. Links to other web addresses written with Mermaid's click … href syntax open in a new tab.

Good to know

  • Links work in flowcharts. Page trees drawn as mind maps are linked too; see Page tree.
  • Readers only reach pages they're allowed to view.
