Markdown Macro+ for ConfluenceSearch and export
Confluence search
The Markdown inside each macro is indexed by Confluence, so searching for words in it finds the page. Changes made to a macro in Edit with Markdown update the index too.
Pages published with Edit with Markdown or New page from Markdown are normal Confluence content, so they are searchable like any other page.
PDF and Word export
When you export a page to PDF or Word from Confluence, each macro is exported as native Confluence content, so headings, lists, tables, task lists and code blocks come out as they would on any page.
| In the macro | In the export |
|---|---|
Callouts and ::: containers |
Confluence panels, with any custom title in bold |
[[toc]] |
Confluence's Table of contents macro |
:shortcode: emoji |
The emoji character |
Block math $$...$$ |
A code block with the LaTeX source |
Inline math $...$ |
The LaTeX source as text |
| Mermaid diagrams | A code block with the diagram source |
| Images | A link to the image |
If a macro can't be converted, the export shows its Markdown in a code block.
Each macro's exported content is wrapped in two invisible anchors. They don't show in the export; they let Markdown Importer for Confluence export the macro as its original Markdown when it exports a page to .md.
