Markdown Macro+ for ConfluenceNew page from Markdown
Write a new Confluence page in Markdown and publish it as normal Confluence content. The page preview on the right shows exactly what will be published.
Create a page
- Open the page the new page should go under.
- Click Edit with Markdown in the byline, or choose Edit with Markdown from the ••• menu.
- Choose New child page.
- Enter a title and write the page in Markdown, or pick a template under Start from a template.
- Click Publish, or Save draft to keep working on it in Confluence later.
Opened from a blog post, the choice is New page, and the page is created at the top of the space.
After Publish you go to the new page. After Save draft the draft opens in the Confluence editor.
Paste or import a whole document
You can paste Markdown, or use Insert a .md file in the toolbar. If the title is still empty and the Markdown starts with a # Heading, that heading becomes the page title and is removed from the body.
What you can write
The editor, toolbar and page dialect are the same as in Edit with Markdown: panels with > [!INFO], expands with :::expand, status lozenges, dates and decisions. Use Markdown Macro+ block in the toolbar to add a macro for content such as math or Mermaid diagrams.
Templates replace the content of the editor here. Template variables such as {{date}} and {{page.title}} are filled in when you pick the template. See Templates and variables.
Errors
- A page with this title already exists in this space: choose another title.
- You do not have permission to add pages in this space: ask a space admin for the Add page permission.
