Colour Themes

One diagram in a site theme, in Jira's light and dark mode

Jira admins can give every diagram on the site the company's colours.

Creating a theme

  1. Open Jira settings → Apps → Mermaid diagram themes.
  2. Click New theme and give it a name.
  3. Pick the colours for boxes, text, borders, lines and the second and group fills. A live preview shows the result in light or dark mode.
  4. Choose a dark-mode version: generated automatically from your colours, or picked by hand.

Using a theme

Custom themes appear first in every editor's Theme menu. Choosing one writes brand: <theme id> into the diagram's front matter, so you can also use it in a code block. Diagrams with a theme follow each reader's Jira light or dark mode.

Archiving

Archive a theme to hide it from the Theme menu. Diagrams that already use it keep its colours.

A site can have up to 50 themes.
