Markdown syntax

Works everywhere
> Quoted text

A greater-than sign and a space at the start of the line.

Start each line with > and a space. Everything inside a quote is still Markdown, so it can hold bold text, lists and code. A > on the blank line between paragraphs keeps them in the same quote.

Questions

Why did my quote split in two?

A completely blank line ends the quote. Put a > on the empty line to keep both paragraphs in one block.

How do I add a note or warning box?

GitHub turns a quote that starts with [!NOTE] or [!WARNING] into a colored alert. See callouts.

Blockquote in Confluence

Markdown Macro+ renders blockquotes. When you export, Markdown Exporter writes Confluence block quotes as > quotes, and can also write info and warning panels as plain quotes when the panel style is set to Blockquote.
